Balik Pulau Hillside

A decade of timber restoration in the mist.

What began ten years ago as a weathering hillside house has gradually grown into ShuiMu Living, a sanctuary built on reclaimed wood, unhurried time, and deep forest quiet.

Architecture

Honoring the grain of the mountain.

We worked slowly, letting the natural grain of reclaimed timber guide every room. Rainwater integration and wide open eaves keep the air moving, inviting the forest inside rather than shutting it out.

Sanctuary Cadence

The tea is poured when the mist settles over the orchard, not by an alarm.

The ShuiMu Community

Daily Living

Hakka heritage and singing bowl resonance.

Dinner is anchored by honest Hakka home-cooked dishes made with what the valley grew this week. Nothing is rushed; meals are shared around communal wooden tables as daylight fades into the hills.

Between meals, brass singing bowls rest on woven mats, offering sound therapy sessions that match the unhurried cadence of the mountain. Every guest contributes to the quiet story of the house.

Step into the forest and let time slow down.

Six rooms, sixteen guests, and mountain stillness await your group.
